Summary of the technology

The subject of the offer is biotization technology for the ecological production of strawberry and American blueberry. The inoculum includes strains of microorganisms selected during multi-stage studies. Media for the cultivation of the most effective strains, media for inoculated plants and inoculum application methods were developed.

Details of the Technology Offer

Biotization is a novel, environmental freindly technology utilized in agriculture. This biotechnological approach relies on inoculating plants with useful microorganisms, such as fungi and bacteria, to increase their growth and tolerance to biotic and abiotic stress. Mycorrhiza is a unique form of symbiosis that commonly occurres in nature. It’s basis on the interdependence and mutual benefits between plants and fungi. Symbiotic microorganisms play an important role in providing plants with nutrients and plant hormones. Additionally, microorganisms serve as plant protection agents against pathogens. In return, microorganisms gain access to organic compounds produced by plants in photosynthesis. As a result of human activity and agrotecocvelhnical operations, symbiosis is disturbed, which has many negative effects, including a reduction in the quality and taste of fruits. Also, the use of large amounts of industrial inputs in agriculture (plant protection products, mineral fertilizers, etc.) harms the environment.

The effects of using the technology:

  • Improving the rooting of cuttings and stimulating the growth of seedlings;
  • Positive effect on photosynthetic processes;
  • Higher seedling tolerance to negative environmental conditions and higher plant viability;
  • Reducing the use of fertilizers and chemical plant protection products.

The technology allows to increase production efficiency and the nutritional properties of berry fruits, by reducing the need of chemical usage in cultivation. Another important result of its implementation is improving cost effectivness and limiting the negative impact on the environment and consumer health.
