Desired outcome
At P&G we recently announced our ambition to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our supply chain and operations by 2040, from raw material to retailer, including clear interim targets for 2030. While we are making progress, the climate emergency calls for bolder and faster actions to decarbonize laundry across the entire value chain. We have strong partnerships in place, but we acknowledge we don’t have all the answers and we won’t let uncertainty hold us back. For this reason, we are calling on moonshot thinkers – inventors, innovators, academics, startups, big and small companies – to help us innovate.
Across our global operations, we are making intentional choices to reduce the footprint of our suppliers, buyers and manufacturing sites, sourcing sustainable materials and exploring new business models to drive circular solutions.
Relevant Areas/Spaces may include (but not restricted to):
• Systems, processes, technologies, devices to convert waste into usable raw materials or products.
• Materials of interest or value out of waste that can help in improving our environmental footprint.
Areas Out of Scope
- Incineration of wastes unless the transformation is carbon neutral/negative
Preferences:
- Beneficial conversion, reuse or recycling of P&G obsolete or waste streams to usable materials or products
- Materials can be in the form of liquids, liquids within plastic or cartons, bulk obsolete product streams, diluted product or wastewater streams from routine manufacturing equipment cleaning. Packaging wastes from manufacturing containing products, obsolete products or non-conform products or associated waste streams
- Some of the above streams may require sorting, segregation, separation or treatment to enable reuse. Technologies or devices resulting in reduction of manpower or simplification of process steps are considered solutions
- Incineration is not preferred unless the material becomes essential fuels to support Waste-to-Energy processes
- Open to new approaches or ideas that are not specified above
