Desired outcome
A technology is needed to reduce alkali consumption to minimum values (less than 20 liters per hour) and, in the future, to bring the use of alkali to zero at gas purification plant at the oil field.
The company applied BASF technology, which reduced the use of alkali to 90%, the consumption of alkali was 30-60 liters per hour at the time of testing.
Details of the Innovation Need
When purifying gas from hydrogen sulfide, an alkaline purification method is used. At the same time, there are high costs for the maintenance of expensive equipment designed for alkaline purification, the cost of energy resources, chemicals and the disposal of waste alkali. NaOH alkali is used, which requires the use of expensive equipment. The need for alkali reached a maximum of 600 liters per hour
